Chris and Bruce Woods

Bruce and Chris Woods were married in 1977 and have three adult children and three grandchildren, Zoe, Jordan and Marshall.  We live in the house that Bruce built in the northern suburbs of Hobart, Tasmania.

Chris works in local government as a Library Officer/Archivist.  She has a passion for genealogy and Tasmanian history and in February 2004 self-published a book, "The Last Ladies" about the lives of the female convicts on the Duchess of Northumberland”.  Her current projects include researching the convicts who spent time in the Insane/Lunatic Asylums at New Norfolk and Port Arthur, researching the 50 year history of Tasmanian Television Limited, the Orphans at the Queen’s Orphan School in Hobart and writing up three branches of her family history.

Bruce is now retired but for 34 years worked as a Senior Technician at WIN TV (formerly TVT6) in Hobart until  December 2002 when he was made redundant.    He is still involved in television through casual work at international and national cricket match OBs from the Bellerive Oval.  Bruce also does some dubbing of standard 8, super 8 and 16mm film to VCR and DVD.  He has a talent for art and hopes to spend some of his time in retirement painting, drawing and making model ships.
