SNARE FAMILY
Robert SNARE and Martha BARKER were married
in Larling, Norfolk, England, in 1856.
Robert was the son of George and Eliza
SNARE of Gasthorpe, Norfolk.
Martha was the daughter of John and Susan
BARKER of Larling.
In 1857 Robert and Martha sailed into
Launceston on board the Southern Eagle, as part of a group sponsored to
Tasmania by the Launceston Immigrant Society.
Also on board were Martha's parents and siblings, Mary Ann, Elizabeth
and Jacob.
Robert and Martha settled in the Forth
district of Tasmania and had a family of 13 children.
Robert SNARE died at Forth in August 1901.
Martha Snare died at Ulverstone in October
1934.
